NCI and Robertson are affiliated with several trade organizations involved in regulating general building practices, which can include standards for green buildings, as well as the following associations focused specifically on the improvement of environmental building policies and products.

CANADIAN GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL


The CANADIAN GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL is an organization dedicated to improving the environmental quality of Canadian communities through the promotion of responsibility, engaging the building industry and government and supporting organizations that practice green and sustainable building development. Cool Metal Roofing Coalition


The Cool Metal Roofing Coalition was founded in 2002 by five industry trade associations to help the public understand the business and environmental rationale for specifying cool metal roofing systems. The Coalition educates architects, building owners, specifiers, codes and standards officials, and other stakeholders about the sustainable, energy-related benefits of metal roofing. The sustaining members of the Coalition are the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA), Metal Construction Association (MCA), National Coil Coating Association (NCCA), and North American Zinc Aluminum Coaters Association (NamZac). Cool Roof Rating Council


The Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) is an independent, non-profit organization that maintains a third-party rating system for radiative properties of roof surfacing materials. EcoENERGY Retrofit Incentive


The EcoENERGY Retrofit Incentive for Buildings offers owners of small to medium-sized commercial/industrial buildings valuable resources and techniques on both financial and technical levels to assist with energy efficient improvements. For more information, visit EcoENERGY on the Web.



ENERGY STAR


ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy that helps consumers save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. A strategic approach to energy management can produce twice the savings — for the bottom line and the environment — as typical approaches. That is why an ENERGY STAR partnership offers a proven energy management strategy that helps in measuring current energy performance, setting goals, tracking savings and rewarding improvements. ENERGY STAR IN CANADA


ENERGY STAR CANADA is part of the Office of Energy Efficiency (OEE). The OEE is a Canadian division specializing in the promotion of energy conservation, energy efficiency and alternative fuels information and research. This site offers information and advice concerning energy conservation to schools, businesses, etc. nationwide. They are also at the forefront of technological advancements that identify new areas and/or techniques that can assist in the reduction of negative energy expulsion. USGBC


The U.S. Green Building Council is a private (non-government), non-profit community of leaders working to make green buildings available to everyone. They certify green buildings for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), offer licensing and professional development through local organizations, and publish reference and research materials.
