State-of-the-Art Facility Uses Robertson Long Bay® to Maximize Space

By Rachel Mercado

Grandezza Investments is a state-of-the-art project from one our Authorized Builders, Lanca Contracting Ltd. Located in the Brant 403 Business Park, this metal building was fully erected and delivered in October 2016.

The design-build contract was awarded to Lanca to construct the facility, and the company officially broke ground in May 2016.   An Authorized Robertson Builder, Lanca opted for the cost-effective Long Bay® System from Robertson Building Systems to achieve an unobstructed, column-free layout.

Engineering and design was provided by JH Cohoon Engineering Ltd., and the 80,260 square-foot building was built with the intent of providing industrial leased space.  It was designed with a flexible interior, capable of adapting to the specific needs of potential tenants. For instance, the unobstructed floor spaces and the size easily accommodate large and heavy industrial equipment that is necessary for some business operations. As another example, its shipping facilities, wide-open spacing, and clear height make it ideal for use as warehousing or production.

Aesthetics meet Functionality in Grandezza

Aesthetics meet functionality in this attractive building. With an eave height of 28-ft, a standing seam Double-Lok® roof, and PBR wall panels for exterior cladding, the Grandezza capitalizes on the advantages of metal buildings, which include sustainability, durability, and versatility to name a few. Ultimately, this facility will drive down owner costs by providing energy efficiency and lowering expenses associated with maintenance. The impressive building’s front façade is a striking combination of painted architectural block and tinted reflective curtain wall. The exterior of the building design uses Alucobond panels to clad the exterior curved entrances.

Further details in the space include a 600 Amp, 600 Volt main service with flexible sub-services; T5 high-efficiency fluorescent light with gas fired infra-red tubular heating; eight (8) semi-automatic loading docks; and four (4) ground level 12-ft x 14-ft overhead doors, all fabricated from pre-engineered metal panels.

The Grandezza Investments building was completed on time in October 2016. The building’s functionality and aesthetics are a testament of Lanca Contracting’s capabilities.
